The United Media Holding Company (UMH), working in Ukraine under the title of the Ukrainian Media Holding, has declared about purchasing 51 % shares of Baluka company that has four niche television channels in Ukraine and a television production-studio in Russia.
Thus, the UMH has acquired only two broadcasting channels: Menu-TV and Shopping-TV, and two more are being prepared for launching.
According to the UMH first Vice-President Grigoriy Shverk, "new channels will be entertaining, not news and not culturological", which fits quite well into the general concept of company development. UMH Vice-President Valentin Reznichenko will supervise the start of the satellite niche channels.
The exact amount of investments in the launch is yet unknown.
“The investments depend on ideas and objectives. According to our estimation, minimum USD 1 million is required, and the upper limit is determined by the investment expediency", - Grigoriy Shverkreports.
At the same time, the majority of experts agree that about USD 3 million is required to launch the programs.
Let us remember that UMH President Boris Lozhkin declared before that the company was going to allocate about USD 30 million in order to enter the TV markets of Ukraine and Russia.
