The Cabinet of Ministers has again postponed 3G
09.10.2008
The Cabinet of Ministers has again postponed the issue of the introduction of third generation communication (3G, UMTS).

At the corresponding meeting on October 1, the question of amendments into the schedule of using radio-frequency resource was not considered, though this issue had been included in the agenda earlier.

According to the information from journalists, on October 2 a meeting of governmental committee dedicated to this case should have been held. Yet it did not take place as well.

Experts called the absence of the first Vice prime minister Alexander Turchinov a possible reason of the meetings failure.

Let us remember that October 1 was deadline established by The Cabinet of Ministers for the conversion and use of frequencies departments to present documents. For reasons undefined, the question was excluded from consideration.

According to the information from journalists, next time the schedule will be considered on October 9, 2008. However, the exact date is still not confirmed.
